334 years ago today, in Salem Village, a warrant w 334 years ago today, in Salem Village, a warrant was issued for Martha Corey. By this point, accusations of witchcraft were already spreading— and Martha had been named. The warrant outlined claims that she was tormenting members of the Putnam and Parris families, along with others in the village. Officers were instructed to bring her in for examination at Ingersoll’s Tavern. What might seem like a single accusation… was part of something much larger beginning to unfold.
